Meet Our Instructors

Mike is the founder of The Groove Dojo and an incredibly gifted musician. "My instruments of choice are drums and percussion. I started banging on my mom's pots and pans when I was 5, and I never stopped! I participated in various school bands from 5th grade through college and have been a longtime advocate for music education. My favorite part is getting to share the journey of musicianship with so many people."

Juliette has been playing percussion instruments since she was 10 years old. She was a member of the drum line in South Oldham High School's marching band from 2011-2015 Her favorite music styles to play and listen to are metal and hard rock, and her favorite band is System Of A Down. "My favorite thing in the world is teaching other people and sharing my passions for music and education. I'm so thankful to be a part of The Groove Dojo, and can't wait to meet more students and help them create a lifelong passion for music and arts."

Wyatt is an extremely talented musician ready to share his talents with more students. He has been playing guitar for 6 years and bass guitar for 4 years. Wyatt is one half of the acoustic duo Crimson Covenant, and has played in the worship band at La Grange Baptist Church for the past 4 years. His favorite genre to play is Blues, and his favorite band to listen to is Van Halen. "My favorite thing about being a musician is learning more about who I am through my music, and giving others joy through my playing."

Jaden has 7 years of vocal experience spanning from choir to solo live performances. She is the other half of the acoustic duo Crimson Covenant, and also a student at Bellarmine University studying music. Jaden is excited to connect with more students, and she is ready to teach musical theatre, classical, and contemporary pop/rock. 

Angie has been learning and playing music for most of her life and is known to drum on whatever is available. Though her favorite instrument to play is marimba, she loves to play all instruments! She earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from James Madison University in Virginia, followed by a Master of Science in Education with a specialization in Music from Troy University in Alabama. Angie is also a percussionist in the Oldham County Community Band.  "I am very thankful for this opportunity to share my love of music, percussion, and teaching with the community at The Groove Dojo!"
